Danish Shipping Education (DSE) educates shipping-professionals of tomorrow in close collaboration with shipping companies, creating an education that is both theoretical and practical. Together we prepare trainees for an exciting future in the worldwide shipping industry.  

Practical Information:

Trainees are enrolled in DSE by the shipping company, bunker company, or other sort of shipping company, with which they already have a signed contract. Trainees are therefore required to be employed in trainee positions before and during DSE.

Team 2025-2027 is planned to start september 2025 and finishes 18th of June 2027.

Due to our renewal of level approval of DSE, DSE will from autumn 2025 consit of five in-person modules, which complement the practical on-the-job training. Attendance at each module is mandatory. We strive to conduct 4 out of 5 modules in Denmark and the 5th module (not the final module of the education) is planned to be concuted abroad. As we are in the process of our renewal of level approval, DSA has not noted the final dates for each Module unless this is completely settled. The dates/months for the modules are following and will be updated from Module 2, 3 and 4:

Module 1: 15.-20th of September 2025 
Module 2: January 2026
Module 3: April 2026
Module 4: November 2026
Module 5: 13th-18th of June 2027 

Graduation Day will be hosted in Denmark on June 18th 2027 unless another date is given.

4 out of 5 modules takes place at either the location:Thon Partner Hotel Sorø, Abildvej 100, 4180 Sorø, +45 81 11 35 87 (Thon Partner Hotel Sorø | Danmark | Thon Hotels), the location Sonnerupgaard Gods, Tølløsevej 53, 4330 Hvalsø, +45 46 40 95 31, (www.sonnerupgaard.dk) or the location Fredensborg Store Kro, Slotsgade 6, 3480 Fredensborg, (www.storekro.com). All these are locations in Denmark. The location of the 5th Module (not the last module of the education) will be on a give location abroad that will be informed about in time as we settle this).

Please be aware that each Module starts around 07:00 am CET on Day 1 and end around 17:00 pm CET on Day 6. Please arrange flights and other transportation according to these time frames as this will be the mandatory part of module programs for all trainees.

Educational fee: 

DKK 79,000 for members of Danish Shipping/Danish Ferry Association, 

DKK 99,000 for non-members. 

Both prizes are exclusive accommodations for each of the 5 modules and books for the trainee purchased 1 time. This price is also exclusive potential re-exam fees (for more information on re-exam fees, please ask for our "Full Exam Guide 2025"). The educational fee is paid in 3 instalments:

September 2025 Half fee

September 2026 Half fee + books + Accommodation year 1

September 2027 Accommodation year 2

The educational fee covers tuition, teaching materials handed out during teaching sessions, enterprise visits, meals and catering during the modules, transport to the modules from Danish Shipping on the 1st day of every module in Denmark and transportation from the location of the module on the last day. The fee does not cover accommodation before the modules start, this the companies will have to arrange for their trainees.

Terms of cancellation: 
Before the registration deadline: Free of charge 
After registration deadline: 45 days or more prior to Module 1 your company will not be charged for DSE. With 45 days og less days prior to Module 1 DSA charges your company for half of the educational price (for first year), ordered litterature for you trainee(s), stay for 1 Module, meals etc. that may be ordered for your trainee(s).

During the first year: No refund for year one
During the second year: No refund.
